Interns play a crucial role at Groceryships. They support the health coaches for each group, and procure the materials for each class. They also are on-call for families during the course of the program, so if a family runs into health-questions mid-week, they can reach out for support.

We are so grateful for our wonderful interns!

Daryl Tunzi is a senior in the Didactic Program in Dietetics at California State University, Northridge. She hopes to become a Registered Dietitian and work with patients and clients in eating for disease prevention. In addition to being a nutrition student, Daryl is also a registered Irish dancing teacher and has trained many dancers in Southern California, who have gone on to compete successfully at the regional, national, and international level. Daryl is excited to work with Groceryships because she has a passion for the community, and would like to empower people to eat well and have them train others to do the same.

Amanda Zarabi is a first year graduate student at California State University, Northridge studying Nutrition and Dietetics. She is interesting in working with critically conditioned patients once she becomes a Registered Dietitian, helping individuals gain their health back, and teaching them how to live every day to the fullest. Amanda is a nutrition and fitness enthusiast, and believes that with the proper knowledge, any change can be made, and any goal can be reached. Amanda’s role in Groceryships is to assist the directors in their duties and answer client questions throughout the week. She is thrilled to be able to contribute her enthusiasm towards health to Groceryships, and make every family a success story.
